Position Summary
We're seeking a skilled Software Engineer to contribute to a high-impact national security mission involving geospatial data. This role supports efforts to accurately measure and represent points on, above, or below the Earth's surface using advanced modeling and analytics.
KEY DUTIES:
ā¢ Design, code, test, and troubleshoot software in an Agile development setting
ā¢ Write automated tests to validate software performance against known standards
ā¢ Contribute to integration and quality assurance of software components
ā¢ Develop using Python and assist with unit testing and debugging activities
ā¢ Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, Master's with 4+, or 8 years total professional experience in lieu of a degree
ā¢ Active Top Secret clearance required, with eligibility for SCI after onboarding
ā¢ Background in software engineering or integration in service-based or distributed systems (e.g., cloud, SOA, web services)
ā¢ Strong communication skills and a self-directed, proactive mindset
ā¢ Quick to learn new tools and technologies
ā¢ Detail-oriented with strong organizational habits; able to take tasks from planning to completion
ā¢ Ability to present and explain technical concepts to various audiences
ā¢ Proficiency with Python development
ā¢ Hands-on experience with version control and DevOps tools, including GitLab and CI/CD workflows
ā¢ Familiarity with Docker for app deployment
ā¢ Understanding of common web protocols (e.g., HTTP, SSL)
ā¢ Exposure to cloud computing platforms (especially AWS)
ā¢ Experience using team collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence
DESIRED SKILLS:
ā¢ Prior work supporting the NGA or similar mission environments
ā¢ Deep knowledge of cloud environments (especially AWS)
ā¢ Certifications in Python or AWS platforms
