Job Description
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
• Design a production-grade .NET 8 REST API using ASP.NET Core with clear resource models and versioning.
• Define and implement SQL database schema and data access layers following robust persistence patterns (e.g., repository/unit-of-work where applicable).
• Ensure transactional integrity, secure and performant SQL interactions (parameterized queries, indexing strategies), and principled error handling.
• Establish observability: structured logging, metrics, tracing, and health checks.
Development & Testing
• Implement API-to-SQL write/read operations with idempotency, authorization/access controls, and input validation.
• Develop unit, integration, and API-to-database tests, including validation of data integrity, transactional behavior, and error/exception paths.
• Conduct API validation against functional and non-functional requirements (performance, resilience, and security baselines).
Required Qualifications
• 5–8+ years of backend engineering experience, including delivering production .NET (C#) REST APIs; strong with .NET 6/7/8 (preferably .NET 8).
• Proficiency in ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core (or equivalent DAL patterns), SQL Server (or equivalent enterprise RDBMS).
• Hands‑on with transactional processing, relational data modeling, query optimization, and secure SQL interaction.
• Strong testing discipline: unit/integration/API tests, test data management, and validation of transactional behavior and error handling.
• Familiarity with observability (logging/metrics/tracing), API security (authN/authZ, secrets), and performance tuning.
• Experience working in Agile teams and producing clear technical documentation and stakeholder‑ready status reports.
Compensation / Salary Range
The typical pay range for this role is: USD $100,000/Yearly - $110,000/Yearly. Factors that may affect pay within or outside of this range may include but not limited to geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
