Social Media Consultant (Bilingual Eng/Spa)

Way Creative Studio Contract Position | Approx. 15 hours per week Monthly Retainer: $2,400 About the Role The Social Media Consultant will provide content publishing, bilingual content adaptation, and digital engagement support for Way Creative Studio, helping execute day-to-day social media activity across the studio’s platforms. This consultant will work collaboratively with the Content Director and creative team to ensure content is published on schedule, optimized for audience engagement, and aligned with the studio’s messaging and digital strategy. This role will support English- and Spanish-language content for platforms reaching Latino and Spanish-speaking audiences. The ideal consultant understands social platforms, internet culture, progressive media ecosystems, and how to adapt messaging in culturally competent, community-centered ways rather than relying on direct translation alone. Scope of Services The consultant will provide the following services: Content Publishing & Platform Management Publish timely approved content across designated social media platforms aligned with campaign content schedules Ensure posts are properly formatted, tagged, and scheduled Coordinate with the social team to align on messaging and amplification timing Copy & Post Development Draft or adapt captions, headlines, and post copy for social platforms Adjust messaging to meet platform best practices, tone, and audience needs Support bilingual copy development for English- and Spanish-language content Bilingual Content Adaptation & Cultural Competency Translate and adapt approved content from English to Spanish, and when needed from Spanish to English Ensure translated content is culturally competent, accessible, and appropriate for diverse Latino and Spanish-speaking audiences Flag language, imagery, phrasing, or references that may not resonate or may require adaptation for cultural relevance Advise on tone, phrasing, and audience considerations for bilingual and community-facing content intended for Latino and Spanish-speaking audiences Community Monitoring Monitor comments, platform trends, and emerging digital conversations Monitor bilingual audience engagement, including Spanish-language comments and community conversations Flag notable engagement, platform moments, or potential issues to the team Provide light bilingual community engagement support when appropriate Content Support Assist with clipping, formatting, or light editing of content for social distribution Maintain organized content folders, shared assets, and publishing schedules Performance Awareness Monitor post performance and engagement trends Surface notable insights, audience patterns, or platform issues to the Content Director Consultant Qualifications Ideal consultants will have: 1–3 years of experience in social media management, digital organizing, or content support Professional fluency in Spanish and English, including strong writing and editing skills in both languages Demonstrated experience creating, translating, or adapting content for Latino and Spanish-speaking audiences Strong familiarity with major social media platforms and online trends Clear writing voice and good editorial judgment Comfort working with political or advocacy-related content Strong cultural competency and nuanced understanding of Latino and Spanish-speaking communities in the U.S. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Experience using basic social media and content tools (native platform tools, Google Drive, scheduling platforms, etc.) Ability to distinguish between direct translation and culturally relevant adaptation Time Commitment & Structure Estimated 15 hours per week Independent contractor engagement Remote work environment Some schedule flexibility required for time-sensitive content publishing The consultant will coordinate regularly with the Content Director and Creative Studio team to ensure timely execution of content and digital engagement priorities.
