Small animal and Large Animal Veterinary Technician

Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Large Animal team, and Small Animal team. We are open 24/7 and provide both emergency care and routine treatment for all types of pets, including cats, dogs, horses, farm animals, and exotic pets. Our Veterinary Technicians play an essential role in our success by supporting doctors in the hospital, caring for patients, and interacting closely with clients in regards to patient care. Our ideal candidate must have previous experience as a Veterinary Technician and be proficient in various aspects of large animal, and small animal Veterinary care. This is a full time position, or part time position. Must be able to work weekends and nights. Responsibilities: • Broad knowledge of basic large animal medicine • Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing • Prepare patients for anesthesia, covering induction, monitoring, troubleshooting and recovery • Ability to perform various treatments on an in-house and outpatient basis including but not limited to placing feeding tubes, intravenous catheter placement and more • Knowledge of medical terminology, medication and disease processes • Administer oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular and intravenous medications • Position and capture digital radiographs • Computer skills • Effective verbal and written communication with both clients and team members • Attention to detail and calm demeanor • Ability to work in a fast paced environment • Low stress handling of patients Qualifications: • Previous veterinary technician experience required • Previous large animal technician experience preferred • CVT or equivalent preferred • Ability to stay calm and efficient during times of high tension • Ability to work well as part of a team • Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task Apply tot his job
