Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required (Interim ok)Work Location: United States (remote)Travel Requirement: Up to 25%Citizenship: US Citizens requiredSherpa 6 is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Android Developer to join our team. We build mission critical systems for the Department of Defense (DoD) and other commercial customers. We’re looking for experienced Kotlin and Java developers who are familiar with developing applications for the Android environment.Responsibilities:Design and develop high-quality, scalable Android applications in Kotlin/JavaImplement unit and integration testing for mobile environmentsCollaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverablesArchitect efficient and reusable code that adheres to best practices and coding standardsConduct code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and securityOptimize application performance and responsivenessStay updated on the latest Android development trends, tools, and technologiesMentor and provide guidance to junior members of the development team
Requirements
Active Secret security clearance (Interim ok)5+ years of Android development experienceBachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related fieldProficiency in Kotlin and/or Java programming languagesStrong understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and related development toolsExperience with RESTful APIs and JSONSolid understanding of software design patterns and architectural principlesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExperience with software development tools such as Git, JIRA, or TrelloQualities of Exceptional Candidates:Experience working in STIG-compliant environments/instancesExperience working with Client/Server Certificates, Certificate Authorities, and Client Certificate AuthenticationExperience with encryption and cryptography algorithmsExperience with reactive programming frameworks (e.g., RxJava)Experience with Android Jetpack libraries (e.g. Compose, Room)About Sherpa 6:At Sherpa 6 we love to solve problems and provide the best solutions for our customers. Salary negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.
