Service Technician I – CNG/RNG Operations Location: Philadelphia and North Job Category: Service Technicians Job Type: Full-Time, Remote Field Service Base Wage Range: $25.00 – $38.00 per hour, commensurate with experience Position Overview A rapidly expanding energy provider in the alternative fuels sector is seeking a skilled Service Technician I to support compressed and renewable natural gas fueling infrastructure across multiple service sites in the greater Philadelphia region. This role blends electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, facility inspection, and critical equipment maintenance for industry-leading natural gas fueling solutions. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance of fueling locations to ensure optimal and safe equipment operation, focusing on CNG, RNG, and LNG systems. Diagnose, repair, and calibrate electrical systems and mechanical components, such as compressors, motors, pumps, meters, valves, and gas dryers. Perform site assessments, address equipment malfunctions, and respond to service calls as needed, including emergency and after-hours requests. Document all activities including site visits, service orders, repairs, recommendations, and operational status through digital service platforms and mobile devices. Maintain fueling infrastructure and related facilities in alignment with regulatory and operational standards. Travel to various sites within assigned territory; regional coverage may extend as business needs demand. Adhere to safety protocols for hazardous environments and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines. Maintain a clean and professional work area and demonstrate strong customer-oriented service at all times. Participate in process improvement initiatives and offer suggestions for enhanced efficiency and safety. Qualifications High School Diploma (preferred) or equivalent; additional technical training in mechanical, electrical, or HVAC fields considered an asset. Minimum 2 years of relevant mechanical or electrical work experience. Basic proficiency with diagnostic equipment, service-related software, and Microsoft Office applications. Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record. Knowledge of natural gas systems, electrical troubleshooting, or HVAC systems preferred. Capable of lifting and moving equipment in accordance with safety requirements. Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information to customers and technical staff. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong attention to detail, reliability, and professionalism.
