Focus Areas in Data Infrastructure Teams Our data infrastructure teams are divided into several focus areas, including: Database Access Platform : This team builds and operates a flexible query gateway that facilitates data abstractions to work at sub-millisecond latencies while allowing arenaflex microservices to more easily store, consume, and manage their data. Data Platform Infrastructure : This team acts as a platform for our own data platforms, providing common infrastructure and tooling that enables arenaflex to rapidly innovate on delivering cutting-edge data and analytics systems to the rest of the company without building custom-made platforms for each new system. Data Ingestion and Processing : This team offers a preoccupied self-service cleared path product to enable diverse client personas across arenaflex to meet their low-latency data ingestion and processing needs. Big Data Figure : This team is responsible for providing the cloud-native platform for distributed data processing at arenaflex, offering support for Flash, ETL data into the Petabytes-scale data warehouse, and access to that data using Flash and Voila/TrinoDB. Big Data Solution : This team offers the platform for scheduling, orchestrating, and executing big data jobs and workflows in a self-serve way, including primary services that have all ETL and ML responsibilities running on Big Data Frameworks at arenaflex. Responsibilities As a data entry and distributed systems specialist at arenaflex, your responsibilities will include: Building and operating large-scale distributed systems and applications Designing and developing robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure Leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with engineers, product managers, and TPMs across teams Contributing to open-source communities and adding to arenaflex OSS Working with Java or other object-oriented programming languages Handling multi-threading and other challenging tasks Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems elements or applications Experience in designing and developing peaceful web services Knowledge of building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages A BS in Computer Science or a related field Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with cloud-native platforms and distributed data processing Knowledge of open-source technologies and contributing to open-source communities Experience with big data frameworks and technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns Career Growth and Learning Opportunities At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
