As the Designer of Women’s Swim at Target, you will play a key role in creating stylish collections that resonate with our guests. This position involves building seasonal collections based on global and domestic trends while ensuring adherence to Target’s sustainability initiatives. Working closely with the Design Director and Senior Designer, you will manage the design process from... concept to execution, translating ideas into compelling product directions using design tools like Illustrator.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is (69,000.00 - )124,200.00. Pay is based on various factors, including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. In addition to your pay, Target invests in you as a team member to help you care for your whole self and your family.

Skills
• 5+ years design experience in womenswear (preferably in Swim)
• Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, XD (Adobe suite)
• Strong understanding of fabric and garment construction
• Innovative problem-solving and creative design abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks

Responsibilities
• Build seasonal collections based on global trends
• Collaborate with the Design Director to manage the design process and calendar
• Research and select materials/finishes for product development
• Create sketches for product direction using Illustrator
• Partner with Merchandising to maintain style counts according to line plans
• Address product issues in collaboration with technical designers and sourcing partners

Qualifications
• Four-year degree in Design
• In-depth understanding of fabric and finishing
• Strong aesthetic sense and ability to respond to market trends
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Design or a related field.

Experience Requirements
• 5+ years of design experience in women’s swimwear preferred.
