Senior Tax Associate (Full Time)

Flux Accounting is a high-performing boutique firm based in Solana Beach, CA, serving a mix of small businesses and high-complexity individual clients. We’re known for our strategic thinking, exceptional accuracy, and client-first approach. Many of our clients operate across multiple states and require advanced tax planning.
We’re hiring a Senior Tax Associate to take the lead on complex returns, support clients with tax strategy, and collaborate with our internal team. This is a full-time, year-round role best suited for someone with 5+ years of experience and a strong handle on multi-state and business tax filings.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review individual, S Corp, C Corp, and partnership tax returns
• Handle multi-state filings, complex ownership structures, and planning
• Communicate directly with clients about strategy and filing issues.
• Assist junior team members when needed.
• Identify and resolve potential compliance and planning concerns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting and tax standards.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to provide informed advice.
Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; EA or CPA certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and review.
• Deep knowledge of multi-state tax compliance and small business tax.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Experience using tax preparation software such as ProConnect, Lacerte, or similiar.
