About the SPACE Team and Our Mission

The SPACE team is dedicated to delivering innovative services that illuminate Microsoft Account experiences across all devices and platforms. We are passionate about building brilliant and inclusive account experiences that enable customers to take advantage of what Microsoft has to offer. Our team is responsible for driving innovation for new marquee UIs used by Windows clients worldwide. We are looking for a collaborative, inclusive, and customer-focused engineer to help us build the future of Windows Validation experiences, such as Passkeys, and engage with our customers by building customer-driven notice stages across mobile applications and Windows.

Key Responsibilities


Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions for Windows clients using C++, WinRT, and WinUI.
Collaborate with a diverse and supportive team of Engineers, Program Managers, UX Designers, AI/ML Researchers, and Customer Specialists to deliver features that leverage AI technologies, such as speech, vision, natural language processing, and AI.
Work closely with designers and senior engineers to contribute to the overall technical vision and strategy of the "architectural how" of building a flexible architecture with excellent fundamentals (such as performance, power, reliability).
Participate in the full development lifecycle of delivering software at scale, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and customers to ensure that solutions meet customer needs and expectations.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.


Essential Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent, relevant experience).
5+ years of experience (or equivalent, relevant experience) in software development using development technologies like C++, WinUI, or XAML.
Hands-on experience with software principles and best practices, such as design patterns, code quality, testing, troubleshooting, and more.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive and supportive team.
Experience in developing features and customer experiences that utilize AI technologies, such as speech, vision, natural language processing, and AI.


Preferred Qualifications


Experience with AI/ML technologies, such as machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision.
Familiarity with cloud-based services, such as Microsoft Azure, and experience with cloud-based software development.
Knowledge of Windows-specific technologies, such as Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows API.
Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions.
