Our client, an innovative leader in the Military/DoD space, is seeking a REMOTE Senior Software AI Engineer/ Python Developer where you will get to contribute across multiple company products in a secure, compliance-driven environment.
This is a 60 % hands-on role for a seasoned developer who can design, build, and maintain production systems while operating within CMMC-aligned requirements and GCC High Azure environments and overseeing a small, agile team of 5.
The right candidate is very passionate about AI and Claude.io and comfortable owning the work end-to-end, leveraging modern AI-assisted coding tools to increase productivity and quality. Join a fast growing but family culture environment.
Extra Engagement details and Location: CONTRACT TO HIRE - REMOTE PST/ MTN timezones preferred/ previous secret clearance a big plus)
Qualifications
• 15+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong production experience with Python
• Strong experience with TypeScript (Node.js preferred)
• Experience designing scalable APIs and distributed systems
• Experience working within CMMC-aligned or similar regulated environments
• Experience with GCC High (GCCH) Azure
• Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants (personal or professional), such as Claude
• Code, Codex, or similar tools
• Comfort integrating AI-assisted workflows into development practices
• Strong understanding of secure coding and compliance-driven environments
• Ownership mindset and ability to operate effectively in a small company
Responsibilities
• Design and develop production systems using Python and TypeScript
• Build and maintain secure backend services and APIs
• Contribute to full-stack development where needed
• Deploy and support applications in GCC High Azure
• Ensure systems align with CMMC compliance requirements
• Collaborate closely with leadership and engineering peers
• Improve system performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development and improve code quality
