Role and Responsibilities • Carry out cashier and stocking responsibilities, and serve in a supervisory capacity when store leadership is unavailable. • Receive deliveries, unpack shipments, and sort merchandise in alignment with company standards. • Replenish shelves, rotate inventory, and build merchandise displays that support store promotions and sales plans. • Assist in the execution of store layout plans (planograms) and seasonal promotions. • Return recovered or misplaced merchandise to shelves and ensure product placement aligns with company expectations. • Provide outstanding customer service by helping customers locate items and addressing inquiries promptly. • Maintain a clean and well-organized store by completing tasks such as trash disposal, restroom cleaning, mopping, and stockroom organization. • Operate the register system to complete transactions, process payments, and return accurate change. • Keep the checkout area orderly and stocked with necessary supplies according to merchandising guidelines. • Support overall store appearance by maintaining the front-end area and setting up exterior promotional displays as needed. • Contribute to a safe and pleasant shopping experience by ensuring cleanliness and organization throughout the store. • Open and close the store as directed by the area manager when necessary. • In the absence of management, handle key operational duties such as returns, overrides, drawer balancing, and preparing deposits. • Monitor register cash flow, perform drawer pulls, and follow established procedures for cashier accountability and store security. • Use surveillance systems to monitor store activity where applicable and provide change support to cashiers. • Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork and reports on time. Required Skills and Experience • Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including calculating percentages. • Knowledge of cash handling protocols and experience using point-of-sale systems. • Proficiency with IBM register systems and familiarity with retail safety practices. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Capable of reading and applying planograms and visual merchandising instructions. • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; six months of supervisory or similar experience is advantageous. Preferred Qualifications • Retail or customer service background. • Demonstrated ability to guide and assist team members in a busy store setting.
