Senior QA Test Lead

Job Title: Senior QA Test Lead Location: Irving, TX, USA Department: Quality Engineering / Cloud Transformation Job Type: W2 About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Test Lead to lead the end-to-end quality assurance strategy for a large-scale legacy mainframe-to-GCP migration program. The ideal candidate will combine deep QA expertise, strong leadership skills, and an understanding of cloud, data, and migration testing complexities. This role will focus on building test strategies, driving automation frameworks, ensuring data validation integrity, and managing stakeholder expectations across multiple teams and platforms (GCP, on-prem, and multi-cloud). Key Responsibilities: Define and implement the QA strategy, test architecture, and governance model for cloud transformation projects. Lead the QA function across multiple workstreams covering data migration, APIs, platforms, and business processes. Establish quality gates, KPIs, and dashboards for measuring end-to-end delivery quality. Partner closely with business, engineering, and operations teams to embed QA best practices into the SDLC. Drive comprehensive test planning, covering functional, regression, integration, performance, and data validation testing. Develop and execute robust data reconciliation and validation frameworks to ensure end-to-end consistency between on-prem and GCP environments. Design test approaches for data pipelines (ETL/ELT), cloud-native applications, and API ecosystems. Oversee test environments, test data management, and automation toolchains across multiple cloud environments. Champion test automation using modern tools (e.g., Selenium, PyTest, Robot Framework, Postman, JMeter, or Cypress) and CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Cloud Build). Implement data validation automation frameworks leveraging Python, SQL, and GCP-native tools (BigQuery, Dataflow, etc.). Lead initiatives for shift-left testing, early defect detection, and continuous quality monitoring. Manage QA teams across onshore/offshore delivery models, mentoring senior test leads and analysts. Collaborate closely with program managers, business analysts, and cloud architects to align quality objectives with migration goals. Communicate test outcomes, risks, and mitigation plans effectively to executive stakeholders. Required Qualifications: 8-10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 4+ years in QA leadership or management roles. Proven experience leading data and application migration testing from on-prem/mainframe to GCP or other cloud environments. Strong expertise in data testing, ETL validation, and end-to-end data flow verification. In-depth knowledge of testing strategies for cloud-native systems, APIs, and data pipelines. Hands-on understanding of GCP data services (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Storage). Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills. Experience managing multi-vendor, distributed QA teams in an agile or hybrid delivery model. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with multi-cloud QA strategies (GCP, AWS, Azure). Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code validation practices. Knowledge of test data management tools and data quality frameworks. Certifications such as ISTQB Advanced Test Manager, Certified Agile Tester (CAT), or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer (QA-focused exposure) are a plus.
