Homebound’s BOOL, BOYL and Suburban product requires a cross-functional effort from key departments: Procurement, Underwriting, Architecture & Design, Sales, Pre-Construction, and Construction Operations.The ideal candidate has excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset, and is eager to contribute to the development of a fast-paced, technology-driven construction company. The ideal candidate also has a well-rounded understanding of supply chains, trade and commodity negotiations, market trends, and trade relationship building.As a member of the Purchasing Team, the Sr. Purchasing Agent will be responsible for executing Homebound's purchasing process in Dallas. The Sr. Purchasing Agent is responsible for executing POs, VPOs, completing budget validation exercises and providing design input and emphasis to the Architecture and Design department from a cost and supply chain point of view. This role reports directly to the Dallas Procurement Lead.What You’ll DoDrive comprehensive project documentation and facilitate communication among cross-functional stakeholdersManage the PO process to ensure alignment with project specifications and budgetsIndependently manage the budget lifecycle, including approvals, adjustments, variance analysis, and performance optimization strategiesEnsure agreements are structured to maximize company value and leverage knowledge of local construction costsLead trade partner performance reviews using Blueprint scorecards; identify improvement areas and build long-term partnershipsAttend home and prototype walks to understand project field adjustments, HVAC placements, and trade executionIndependently manage complex blueprint changes, update templates, and contribute to cross-functional product developmentEnsure timely PO releases aligned with construction schedulesEnter budgets into Homebound’s platform to initiate new projectsContribute to the development of scopes of work, unit pricing, and supplier/trade contract documentationUse Homebound’s proprietary technology to manage workflows and drive efficiencyWhat You’ll Bring6+ years of experience in Purchasing or related roles within custom or production homebuildingDegree in Construction Management, Building Sciences, or related field preferredStrong proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel for data entry and trackingFamiliarity with MEP systems and their integration into residential projectsWorking knowledge of local building codes and their applicationEstimating experience using tools such as PlanSwift or On-Screen TakeoffsAbility to read and interpret architectural and construction documentsProven ability to collaborate across teams—especially Growth, Construction Operations, and Finance—to solve key business problemsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skillsHigh attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyMust be in the Dallas office a minimum of three days per week and in the field as neededWe will accept applications for this role until July 18, 2025.We are focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
