There are more than 20M users of Grafana, the open source visualization tool, around the globe, monitoring everything from beehives to climate change in the Alps. The instantly recognizable dashboards have been spotted everywhere from a NASA launch and Minecraft HQ to Wimbledon and the Tour de France. Grafana Labs also helps more than 3,000 companies -- including Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase, and eBay -- manage their observability strategies with the Grafana LGTM Stack, which can be run fully managed with Grafana Cloud or self-managed with the Grafana Enterprise Stack, both featuring scalable metrics (Grafana Mimir), logs (Grafana Loki), and traces (Grafana Tempo). We’re scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different: an open-source legacy, a global collaborative culture, and a passion for meaningful work. Our team thrives in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do. You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity. The Opportunity: Our People team supports over 1,000 team members in 40+ countries. Our team is highly technical and thrives on being able to dive into the details, build from scratch and create structure through chaos. We’re ambitious too. Grafana Labs scaled rapidly and we’re evolving our team, our processes and the support that we offer to the business at a fast pace. We are seeking an exceptional Senior People Operations Specialist to join our established team and play a pivotal role in supporting our dynamic international team. The Sr. People Ops Specialist will be a key contributor and collaborative expert in managing the entire employee lifecycle. Working as part of a team of Senior People Operations Specialists, you will jointly own and drive critical processes, from global onboarding and offboarding, leave management, compensation operations, and essential collaborations with payroll and finance. This role carries a broad remit, offering a unique opportunity to collectively establish and refine global People processes within a fast-paced, remote-first, and highly international environment. The team members that the Sr. People Ops Specialist support are based in multiple time zones, across 40+ different countries. What You’ll Be Doing: Global Onboarding & Compliance: • Manage new hire documentation from offer acceptance, including global Right to Work checks, background screens, and I-9 Documentation, ensuring a first-class onboarding experience. • Oversee global contract creation and the background check process, supporting contingent onboarding as needed. Process Development & Optimization: • Research, build, and continuously improve scalable People tools and processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency and automation. • Support international entity establishments and key annual People processes such as performance, compensation, promotions, and levelling. Team Member Support & Communications: • Act as a key point of contact for team member inquiries, providing prompt and accurate resolutions. • Manage and maintain all global People templates, including employment verifications, visa support, offer letters, and contracts, and coordinate candidate visa processes. Payroll, Finance, Systems & Data Integrity: • Prepare and ensure timely submission of monthly payroll updates, partnering closely with the Finance team for accurate documentation. • Administer, enhance, and audit all People systems (e.g., Workday, Tangelo, Freshservice), driving data integrity across platforms. What Makes You a Great Fit: • You have progressive experience in a People Operations (HR) generalist or coordination role, preferably within a high-growth, remote environment • You are highly organized, with strong attention to detail, and you love multitasking with excellent follow-through skills. • You thrive in ambiguity, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to confidently make decisions even when all information isn't readily available. You understand when to move forward with a "good" solution and iterate to "great," rather than stalling for perfection. • Highly resourceful and adept at both independent work and effective collaboration, demonstrating strong initiative, creative problem-solving skills, and sound judgment • You are a proactive self-starter, a true "go-getter" who is not afraid to ask questions, challenge the status quo, and drive initiatives forward. • You possess outstanding cross-functional collaboration skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong, trusted relationships both within the People team and across all levels of the organization (e.g., Finance, Legal, Leadership). • You are highly approachable and have a customer service mindset to your role, ensuring that everyone, locally and internationally, has a great interaction with you and the People Operations team. • You are able to adapt to new processes, technologies, and ways of working, thriving in a dynamic, evolving environment. • You are process-oriented and enjoy creating process and structure where there is none, often as part of a team effort. • Ideally, you have experience partnering with or working within People Operations and understand the importance of handling and protecting sensitive and confidential information. Compensation & Rewards: In the US, the base compensation range for this role is USD 76,939 - USD 92,326 . Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process. Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable) and other benefits listed here. • Compensation ranges are country specific. If you are applying for this role from a different location than listed above, your recruiter will discuss your specific market’s defined pay range & benefits at the beginning of the process. Why You’ll Thrive at Grafana Labs: • 100% Remote, Global Culture - As a remote-only company, we bring together talent from around the world, united by a culture of collaboration and shared purpose. • Scaling Organization – Tackle meaningful work in a high-growth, ever-evolving environment. • Transparent Communication – Expect open decision-making and regular company-wide updates. • Innovation-Driven – Autonomy and support to ship great work and try new things. • Open Source Roots – Built on community-driven values that shape how we work. • Empowered Teams – High trust, low ego culture that values outcomes over optics. • Career Growth Pathways – Defined opportunities to grow and develop your career. • Approachable Leadership – Transparent execs who are involved, visible, and human. • Passionate People – Join a team of smart, supportive folks who care deeply about what they do. • In-Person onboarding - We want you to thrive from day 1 with your fellow new ‘Grafanistas’ to learn all about what we do and how we do it. • Balance is Key - We operate a global annual leave policy of 30 days per annum. 3 days of your annual leave entitlement are reserved for Grafana Shutdown Days to allow the team to really disconnect. *We will comply with local legislation where applicable. Equal Opportunity Employer: We will recruit, train, compensate and promote regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, disability, age, veteran status, and all the other fascinating characteristics that make us different and unique. We believe that equality and diversity builds a strong organization and we’re working hard to make sure that’s the foundation of our organization as we grow.
