Job Overview In this hybrid role, you will be based either in the Washington DC Metro area or the Fredericksburg, VA area, with travel required to our regional offices. As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of field engineers and technicians, ensuring effective coverage and support for all regional offices. You will oversee hiring, training, and performance evaluations, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. With a strong technical background and proven leadership skills, you will develop and implement best practices, standards, and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of field engineers and technicians, ensuring effective coverage and support for all regional offices. Technical Support and Maintenance: Ensure timely and efficient resolution of technical issues in regional offices, including hardware, software, network, and system problems. Project Management: Plan and oversee technical projects, including office relocations, infrastructure upgrades, and new technology rollouts. Budgeting and Resource Management: Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost control. Communication and Collaboration: Act as a liaison between regional offices and the central IT department, ensuring clear communication and coordination. Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and advancements in field engineering, identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation, and the implementation of new technologies to enhance service delivery. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Bachelor's Degree: In Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Experience: At least 7 years of experience in technical field engineering or a related discipline, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Technical Skills: At least 1 year of experience in IT infrastructure, networking, and systems support. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Proven Leadership Experience: A track record of successful project delivery and team management. Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Project Management Certification: Project management certification (e.g., PMP) and IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) are a plus.
