Job Description:dentsu is looking for a Senior Manager of Planning with solid integrated media expertise to help maintain and grow one of our large integrated media businesses. You should have some experience in both traditional and off-line media (TV, Radio, Print, OOH), but a major focus of this role will focus on all things digital – digital media planning, digital activation, digital partnerships, digital channels, and performance media. You will be a key member of the team and a point of contact to our clients. This role will be very hands-on and involved in the day-to-day of this account.As a Senior Manager of Media Planning, you are responsible for ensuring that communications strategies are effectively converted into plans as well as leading the development and implementation of those plans. In partnership with the senior leadership, you will help in setting the strategic tone for the account/within your assigned division. You are expected to have a strong working knowledge of the media landscape (including digital). You will report to the Director, Media Planning. This role can be remote but will work CST hours.Key Responsibilities: Accountable for media plan output timeliness, accuracy, and overall excellenceParticipate and help lead the strategic media planning/execution and serve as a resource for direct reports & junior staff for advice and counselDemonstrate ability to utilize resources (syndicated, proprietary, analyst data) to help guide client’s marketing goals and apply to strategic recommendationsWork closely with activation department leads to outline appropriate processes and timelines to ensure flawless executionUnderstand and adopt new techniques and technologies that are relevant for clients’ media strategiesProvides relevant insight and input into existing and emerging media opportunities (through awareness of available media services vendors)Build & maintain trusting, collaborative relationships with clients at appropriate levelsAccurately represent the client’s point of view when developing/reviewing work, leverage this perspective when providing feedback to team and presenting to clientCapable of effectively managing up and down the reporting structureProvide and discuss industry information on media, markets and related dynamicsTrain, motivate and develop media planning groupConstruct and deliver accurate, honest and timely performance management documentsQualifications4-6 years of communications/media planning experience Experience in traditional marketing and current knowledge of trends and innovations in traditional mediaExperience in digital marketing / media and current knowledge of trends and innovations in digital mediaProven leadership skills and management experienceWorking knowledge of Insights tools such as MRI and Simmons and competitive tools like Nielsen Ad Intel and/or Kantar StrategyExperience with Media Tools and buying platforms such as DDS, Media Ocean, Spot ToolkitSolid understanding of DFA, and other digital media related tools (comScore, eMarketer, Forrester…)The annual salary range for this position is $68,000-$110,000.
