Role Summary
NiSource is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support Work Continuity planning and preparedness for potential operational disruptions within NIPSCO operations in Indiana. The Project Manager will be responsible for developing and executing contingency plans across clerical departments to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted customer service operations.
This role requires close collaboration with business leaders, operations teams, HR, labor relations, IT, communications, and security teams to ensure operational readiness and effective risk management during the work continuity period.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive contingency plans for clerical departments with represented employees.
• Partner with business leaders and department managers to document critical work functions and identify coverage gaps.
• Coordinate staffing plans using contingent workers and internal resources aligned with business continuity strategies.
• Monitor operational readiness and ensure all critical tasks are covered without service disruption.
• Track project risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating concerns to leadership when necessary.
• Provide regular status reporting and progress updates to senior leadership.
• Lead change management initiatives and ensure clear communication across stakeholders.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across operations, HR, labor relations, IT, communications, and security teams.
• Work with the Enterprise Work Continuity team on initiatives such as security protocols, asset management, system access, training readiness, and worksite logistics.
• Develop presentations and participate in briefings with Senior and Executive Leadership.
• Ensure all governance, procedures, and compliance activities are implemented throughout the work continuity process.

Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in project management roles.
• Experience managing large, complex projects involving internal and external teams.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, and SDLC.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across IT and business functions.
• Strong stakeholder management experience with executive sponsors and leadership teams.
• Experience with project cost management and resource capacity planning.
• Strong business process analysis and process mapping capabilities.
• Experience implementing change management strategies for large initiatives.
• Experience indirectly managing team members including training, work assignment, and coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
• Agile certifications such as PSM (Professional Scrum Master) or PSPO (Professional Scrum Product Owner).
• ITIL v3 or ITIL v4 certification.
• Familiarity with the Energy / Utilities industry.
