Remote Senior Estimator (Takeoff Engineer) Full-Time | Remote | Construction Estimating Virtual Construction Assistants is hiring a Remote Senior Estimator (Takeoff Engineer) on behalf of one of our U.S.-based construction clients. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial construction estimating and can efficiently manage digital takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid coordination in a fully remote setup. Key Responsibilities: • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates for assigned trades. • Develop and review scopes of work to ensure accuracy and minimize scope gaps. • Manage subcontractor outreach, bid comparisons, and proposal collection. • Analyze project documents and maintain organized digital estimate logs. • Prepare estimate summaries, bid packages, clarifications, and supporting documents. • Coordinate with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal staff during the estimating process. • Maintain and update pricing databases and subcontractor/vendor lists. • Support MWBE, union, and local participation compliance when required. Qualifications: • 10+ years of estimating experience required (commercial construction preferred). • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. • Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software (OnScreen Takeoff, Bluebeam, SmartBid, or similar). • Advanced Excel and reporting skills. • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills. • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred. • Must be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
