About the Role As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer II – Live Chat Backend Development and Team Leadership at blithequark, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure of our Live Chat product. You'll work closely with our team of engineers to build scalable, performant, and reliable systems that can handle large volumes of data and traffic. Some of the key responsibilities of this role include: Designing and developing backend systems using Java 11, Dropwizard framework, and Kafka for processing large volumes of data Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance and support to help them grow in their careers Participating in code reviews and ensuring that all code is clean, maintainable, and follows best practices Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in backend development and making recommendations for improvements to our systems and processes Working closely with our product team to understand customer needs and develop solutions that meet those needs Collaborating with our DevOps team to ensure seamless deployment and monitoring of our systems Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need to have: 5+ years of experience working on backend systems, ideally with a focus on analytics, data infrastructure, or reporting products Strong experience with Java 11, Dropwizard framework, and Kafka Excellent understanding of distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and building scalable data pipelines or APIs Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams A passion for writing clean, maintainable code and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions Experience with mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance and support Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience with AI and building AI products Strong understanding of cloud-based technologies and experience with cloud-based deployments Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes Strong understanding of security best practices and experience with implementing secure systems Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong technical skills, with the ability to design and develop complex backend systems Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams A passion for writing clean, maintainable code and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and support Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
