We’re looking for a Senior Design Engineer to bridge the gap between design and front-end engineering while driving architectural excellence and technical innovation across our platform. This role is perfect for someone who combines deep front-end architectural expertise with a passion for crafting intuitive user experiences. You thrive on building scalable systems, sweating the small details, implementing UI improvements, and crafting smooth transitions.You'll be great at this if you can:Implement beautiful UI and smooth interactionsBuild and improve our front-end architecture for better performanceExpand our design system and component libraryPrototype quickly and refine designs based on feedbackMentor others on modern front-end practicesDay-to-day you'll:Turn design concepts into reality (even without detailed specs)Collaborate with designers and engineers to build polished, high-quality UI componentsSweat the small details, whether it’s refining button states, animations, typography, etc.Champion frontend best practices and mentor the team by contributing to technical decision-making.What we need:5+ years in front-end development, design engineering, or a hybrid roleReact, TypeScript, and modern front-end architecture skillsExperience with vector and motion graphics, including SVG, HTML5 Canvas, and animation using JavaScript and CSS (e.g., Framer motion, GreenSock, three.js, ProcessingJS, etc).Experience building design systems and component librariesStrong UX sensibilities with an eye for detailYou live in a US/EU Compatible Time ZoneAn eye for detail—you care about spacing, typography, animations, and micro-interactions.Passion for finance, Web3, and cryptoBonus points for:Experience with TradFi or Web3 productsExperience with GraphQL/REST APIsHands-on crypto experience—familiarity with Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps, and on-chain interactions.User of Matcha and other decentralized exchanges and products.Matcha Tech Stack:We care far more that someone has solid fundamentals, is generally intelligent, has strong learning agility, and is an overall good human.
