Senior Database Administrator, SQL
Job Description:
• Administer, monitor, and maintain MS SQL Server and MongoDB or Oracle or PostgreSQL databases
• Implement data backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
• Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Enforce database security measures to safeguard sensitive data
• Implement and manage user access and roles to ensure compliance with security policies
• Work with development teams to design and implement database solutions that support application requirements
• Collaborate with IT teams in managing database changes and upgrades
• Set up and utilize monitoring tools to track database performance and address bottlenecks
• Generate reports on system performance, availability, and other relevant metrics
• Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including patching and updates for both MS SQL Server and MongoDB or Oracle or PostgreSQL
• Evaluate and recommend improvements for database architecture and software tools.
Requirements:
• 5-7 years of experience in database administration, specifically with MS SQL Server and MongoDB or Oracle or PostgreSQL
• Strong knowledge of database backup, recovery, and replication strategies
• Proficiency in Oracle database management, including Oracle RAC and Data Guard
• Experience with MongoDB/SQL Server/PostgreSQL deployment and management tools
• Familiarity with database monitoring tools and best practices
• Knowledge of agility tools such as Version1
• Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
• Experience with Datadog monitoring
• Cloud-based database administration experience with Azure or Amazon AWS
• Familiarity with ITIL practices
• Proficiency in Python and PowerShell scripting.
