What You'll Do

As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing event-driven data solutions that process massive volumes of data in real-time. Your expertise in AWS native services will be crucial in building scalable, reliable, and cost-effective data pipelines that support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities


Design, develop, and maintain event-driven data pipelines on AWS using services like Amazon EventBridge, AWS Lambda, and AWS Step Functions
Collaborate with business stakeholders and product teams to understand and define comprehensive data requirements
Implement rigorous data quality checks and monitoring systems to ensure data integrity and reliability
Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
Stay current with the latest AWS technologies and best practices, evaluating new services and features
Develop and implement personalization algorithms using Python and Pydantic models
Build and maintain DynamoDB tables and NoSQL databases for high-performance applications
Utilize Amazon Kinesis to collect, process, and analyze streaming data in real-time
Create comprehensive documentation for data systems, architectures, and processes
Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the organization


What You Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field
3+ years of professional experience in data engineering or similar technical roles
Strong understanding of AWS native event-driven services including EventBridge, Lambda, and Step Functions
Proficiency in Python programming with experience in data processing and algorithm development
Experience with NoSQL databases, particularly DynamoDB
Knowledge of Amazon Kinesis for real-time data streaming
Understanding of data modeling, data quality best practices, and data security principles
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Commitment to prioritizing safety, security, and data privacy in all work
Ability to embrace diverse perspectives, thinking styles, and collaborative approaches


Preferred Qualifications


Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field
5+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on cloud-native solutions
Deep expertise in AWS event-driven architecture and serverless technologies
Strong experience with personalization systems, recommendation engines, or machine learning pipelines
Proficiency in Pydantic for data validation and modeling
Experience with data mesh architectures and modern data platform design
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance requirements
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Strong background in optimizing data pipelines for both performance and cost-efficiency
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Data Analytics, or Developer Associate)
