Senior Data Engineer (Azure)
The Role: We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure to join our fast-growing Network. What we’re looking for: 5+ years in Data Engineering roles. Advanced SQL knowledge: complex queries, performance tuning, stored procedures. Strong understanding of Azure technologies: Azure SQL Database, Data Factory, etc. Proven experience in ETL development, data integration, and pipeline orchestration. Deep understanding of data modeling principles and data warehouse architectures. Knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management, and data security best practices. Located in CET timezone (+/- 3 hours), we are unable to consider applications from candidates in other time zones. Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, and Azure DevOps. Expert in Power BI development, including Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service. Experience with Python or other scripting languages for data processing. Git or other version control systems for collaboration and CI/CD practices. Microsoft certifications (Power BI, Azure Data Engineer, or SQL Server). Responsibilities: Design and develop end-to-end data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, SQL, and other Azure services. Implement complex data models, DAX measures, and calculated columns to support reporting. Manage and optimize ETL workflows, ensuring data quality, consistency, and high performance. Design and maintain data warehouses and dimensional models (e.g., star/snowflake schema). Collaborate with analysts, developers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Integrate data from various sources, including SQL databases, cloud storage, APIs, and flat files. Ensure data governance, accuracy, and integrity across the BI ecosystem.
