WHAT YOU’LL DO:Our national, public sector consulting firm is seeking a Senior Consultant on the Fiscal Team to lead cost accounting and cost analysis consulting services to local and state governments. This Consultant will lead the creation of cost-of-service analyses, indirect cost rates, and related deliverables for clients. Responsibilities may include interviewing client management and staff, gathering and analyzing data, preparing reports or claims, participating in presentations, and other project tasks as directed.To be successful, candidates should have public sector financial analysis experience and have led cost-of-service analysis studies in the past. Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables and experience with databases is required. Demonstrating the right skill set may substitute for a lack of experience. The firm will provide specific training on the firm's proprietary cost- of-service models and systems.Candidates should be willing to problem-solve, possess critical thinking skills, be able to work independently but also in collaboration with other staff, and be self-motivated. Candidates must be comfortable presenting in front of virtual and physical groups and be looking for advancement in their career.The individual should also have a genuine interest in working with the public sector and assisting the public sector with fiscal projects. This position requires significant time working directly with spreadsheets, cost modeling as well as client interaction.In this role you will:Begin, complete, and renew client work with minimal oversightDevelop strong client relationships across all levels of public sector organizationsLead, facilitate and participate in client and internal meetingsManage and participate in the gathering of required data and process calculations on behalf of clientsAbility to problem-solve complex issues on behalf of clientsResearch existing and/or learn new regulations, programs, and subject matter areasPresent information in a concise, linear manner, both orally and in reports, to a wide variety of usersDevelop daily work plans and meet utilization targetsSupervise project work and eventually direct reports/staffParticipate in business development efforts, including the generation of new business proposals and presentationsParticipate in corporate activities and show a commitment to firm culturePerform other duties as assignedWHAT YOU’LL BRING:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is requiredFive (5) or more years of consulting experience or equivalent public-sector experienceState or local government accounting, finance experience, or related private sector experience - can be combined with the aboveExperience preparing cost-of-service studies and indirect cost ratesAt least three years of project management experienceDemonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially strong analytical experience in ExcelExperience using basic algebra and mathematics involving the practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions or measurementsExperience with and comfort learning database systemsAbility to develop relationships with both colleagues and clients at varying levels of organizationsWorking knowledge of project management methodologiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skills and the ability to multi-taskExperience with leadership and the desire to grow leadership skillsThe ability to prepare and present clear and concise client-ready documents (superior attention to detail)The ability to work as part of a team or individuallyThe ability to meet competing deadlinesExperience preparing cost-of-service studies and indirect cost ratesWHAT WE OFFER:Our world-class work environment encompasses flexible and remote work options, a commitment to equity, and nationally respected teams in management consulting and technology services.
