Senior Clean Energy Consultant (Remote)

About the position The Senior Clean Energy Consultant at NV5 is responsible for managing complex projects and client relationships in the clean energy sector. This role involves providing thought leadership, mentoring junior staff, and conducting research and analysis on clean energy technologies and decarbonization practices. The consultant will engage proactively with clients, oversee project deliverables, and ensure successful project outcomes across various energy-related topics. Responsibilities • Scope, organize, and manage complex projects and client relationships. • Build understanding of client pain points and needs to grow scopes of work over time and identify opportunities for new work areas. • Mentor and manage junior staff project contributions and deliverables, including providing constructive feedback and engaging in iterative development of deliverables. • Conduct analysis of policies and programs that promote sustainable energy. • Conceive, develop, and present clear, understandable deliverables that are responsive to client needs and inquiries. • Align project scopes and budgets with client needs and expectations through clear, proactive communication. Requirements • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience working in the clean energy industry. • Knowledge of clean energy technologies, practices, policies, and programs. • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines for yourself and others working on projects or project areas that you lead. • Demonstrated experience as project manager and/or client relationship lead in energy efficiency, demand response, decarbonization, or related fields strongly preferred. • Excellent oral communication skills including the ability to translate technical information for a variety of audiences.
