About the Role
The Risk Information Services team is responsible for delivering high-quality data solutions to support our risk management initiatives. As a Senior Big Data Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading complex projects, designing and implementing large-scale data solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive business outcomes. Your expertise in big data technologies, programming languages, and software development methodologies will be essential in driving the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead complex projects and initiatives within the technical area, including designing, developing, and implementing large-scale data solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and drive business outcomes
Design, code, test, troubleshoot, and report on projects and initiatives related to the technology space, including upgrades and implementations
Analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions to meet business needs
Lead a team and provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
Collaborate with peers, associates, and mid-level managers to resolve technical issues and achieve goals
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
3+ years of experience in software engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
3+ years of experience with Hadoop, Teradata, MongoDB, AWS, GitHub, and Bitbucket
3+ years of experience with programming languages such as Python, Unix/Shell scripting, Scala, Flash, HBase, Oozie, Flume, and Kafka
3+ years of experience with Ansible
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a highly collaborative environment with a proactive mindset
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) across all organizational levels of technical and non-technical audiences
Experience designing ETL data flows using mapping/workflows to extract data from SQL Server and Information Movement and Change from Oracle/Access/Excel Sheets using SQL Server SSIS
Related experience working as a programmer at Wells Fargo
