About the roleWe're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale the backend systems that power Pulley's product experience. This is a foundational role focused on developing reliable infrastructure, implementing data models and APIs, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features for startup founders.As a Senior Engineer, you'll own the implementation of complex backend features that span multiple services, contribute to architectural decisions, and help improve our data persistence layer. You'll work closely with product, design, and other engineers to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions while maintaining the high quality standards our customers depend on.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, values clean architecture and maintainable code, and wants to have direct impact on systems that power company-building at scale. What You'll DoBuild and maintain backend services, APIs, and data models that support new product features and platform capabilitiesImplement database schemas, migrations, and ensure data integrity across our persistence layerCollaborate with frontend and product engineers to design APIs that enable seamless user experiencesWork with senior engineers to contribute to architectural decisions that improve system reliability and performanceWrite clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews to maintain engineering qualityPartner with PMs and designers to break down complex product requirements into technical implementationsHelp improve our development processes and contribute to engineering best practices What You Bring5-7 years of experience building backend systems in production environmentsStrong proficiency in Go, with experience building scalable web servicesSolid understanding of database design, SQL, and data modeling best practicesExperience with API design and working closely with frontend teamsFamiliarity with distributed systems concepts and performance optimizationStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in complex technical domainsCollaborative mindset and experience working in cross-functional teamsBonus: Experience in fintech, legaltech, or other high-trust domains with complex data requirements BenefitsCompetitive salary and equityMedical, Dental, and Vision insuranceUnlimited PTO + Winter holiday breakParental leaveGenerous stipends for WFH, learning, wellness, and AI tools401(k) match (US) / Pension match (Canada)Annual Salary Range: $140,000—$200,000 USDThe range above reflects the typical salary range for this role.
