Our team delivers impactful applications and tools by leveraging advanced technologies and innovative practices. The Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer / Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining and developing new features for two critical batch processing applications. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary and experienced team, including a Lead Developer, fullstack developers, a designer, and a business analyst, to ensure that our solutions exceed client expectations. You will also collaborate directly with stakeholders from various locations worldwide, ensuring alignment and delivering value across diverse requirements. Key Responsibilities
Design and implement robust backend systems to support complex batch processing workflows, ensuring data reliability even when working with inconsistent or incomplete data.
Create workflows to process data from multiple sources with varying levels of quality, ensuring the impact of one component failing has minimal impact for the whole system.
Develop and maintain data models for intricate domain problems in the emulsions industry.
Create functions and transformations to extract insights and make sense of raw data.
Optimize and manage distributed systems to ensure scalability and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional team members to define requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
Handle and analyze large datasets using SQL and NoSQL technologies.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the application lifecycle, from development to production.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to bring innovative ideas to the team. What weâre looking for
Technical Expertise: Proven experience with backend development, distributed systems, and complex domain data modeling.
Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and NoSQL databases. Familiarity with web-based (e.g., cloud-based) solutions, automated testing, source code versioning, continuous integration and continuous delivery.
Problem Solver: Ability to tackle challenges with partial or incomplete information using logical and creative approaches.
Self-Starter: Highly resourceful, motivated, and capable of taking ownership of tasks from inception to completion.
Collaborative Mindset: Strong communication skills and a willingness to work closely with team members across disciplines.
Stakeholder Interaction: Experience working directly with global stakeholders to understand requirements and align on deliverables.
