Job Summary We're seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer with equal strengths in data architecture and visualization to design and operationalize the data foundation powering revenue analytics. This role combines technical depth with precision design – building the semantic and data models that enable accurate, analytics-ready insights, and contributing to Power BI dashboard development selectively for complex or leadership use cases. You'll partner closely with enterprise BI, sales operations, and cross-functional SOS teams to align on ingestion, transformation, and quality standards that support scalable, unified reporting across the revenue ecosystem. Your work will directly support the newly combined ITAM, FinOps, and MSAG organization, known as Spend Optimization Services (SOS). Role Description Analytics & Visualization • Define and maintain visualization frameworks, UI/UX standards, and reporting templates in Power BI. Hands-on dashboard development may occur selectively based on business needs. • Build and maintain semantic models and shared datasets, to ensure consistency and self-service capability within Power BI. • Establish and document data visualization standards, naming conventions, and dashboard governance practices to maintain consistency across the organization. Analytics Engineering & Data Architecture • Design, build, and maintain the SOS Revenue Intelligence data architecture – delivering clean, reliable, analytics-ready datasets while automating recurring data tasks. • Develop and optimize semantic and gold-layer data models, ensuring front-end visualizations load and refresh quickly. • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitHub or Azure DevOps version control for analytics assets and dashboards. • Partner with enterprise BI team to align on ingestion, transformation, and quality standards across shared data environments. • Ensure data architecture and models are scalable, well-documented, and comply with data governance best practices. Skill Level Requirements • The expertise in leveraging cloud-based platforms and services to build, deploy, and manage applications and data on the internet - Expert • Ability to implement and manage DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and monitoring to enhance the collaboration between development and operations teams - Expert • Proficiency in creating structured frameworks for organizing and interpreting data - Expert • The ability to write, debug, and maintain code in various scripting and programming languages to automate tasks and develop software solutions - Expert • Proficiency in implementing and managing cloud security frameworks, compliance standards, and governance models - Expert • Knowledge of data warehousing methodologies and ETL design principles to support data management and integration - Expert • Understanding of Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, BIRT, or Tableau for data visualization and reporting - Expert • Ability to systematically identify, document, and manage the technical needs and specifications of a project by engaging with stakeholders and analyzing business objectives to ensure successful project outcomes - Expert Other Requirements • Completed Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience. • 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, BI development, or data modeling roles. • 5+ years of experience using Python, SQL and experience with cloud data platforms. • Hands-on experience with GitHub or Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version-controlled analytics workflows. • Advanced proficiency in Power BI (DAX, data modeling, performance optimization) with experience in Microsoft Fabric, Direct Lake/DirectQuery, aggregations, and composite models preferred. • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, semantic modeling, and fact/dimensional data warehouse architecture. • Ability to travel 10% The estimated annual pay range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
