Human Resources (HR) Coordinator

The USTA/Mid-Atlantic Foundation (“USTA/Mid-Atlantic”), one of 17 sections of the United States Tennis Association, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to support core HR operations in a fully remote environment.

This full-time, non-exempt role coordinates day-to-day HR processes, including HRIS administration, payroll support, recruitment coordination, onboarding compliance, and employee record management. The HR Coordinator ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance while providing responsive support to employees.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with HR systems, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Administration
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity within the HRIS (Paycom preferred).
• Process employee lifecycle transactions, including new hires, status changes, compensation updates, and terminations.
• Manage digital personnel files and ensure required documentation is complete and compliant.
• Track and maintain employee compliance requirements (background checks, SafeSport, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications).

Payroll & Benefits Coordination
• Support biweekly payroll processing, including review of data changes and required documentation.
• Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and responding to employee inquiries.
• Coordinate benefits enrollments and changes; maintain accurate benefits records.
• Support open enrollment administration and related communications.

Recruitment & Onboarding
• Post job openings and coordinate interview scheduling.
• Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation.
• Maintain and update job descriptions.

Department & Project Support
• Provide administrative and clerical support to the HR department.
• Track departmental project lists and ongoing initiatives.
• Assist with HR reporting and data tracking.
• Support HR projects and process improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience
• 2–4 years of experience in Human Resources or a related administrative role.
• 2–4 years of hands-on experience with HRIS systems (Paycom strongly preferred).
• Experience supporting payroll processing ideal.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive).

Additional Requirements
• Must reside in the Mid-Atlantic region (MD, DC, VA, WV).
• Strong attention to detail and high level of data accuracy.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 lbs., and perform repetitive motions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
