Becoming the best airline is an adventure. By analyzing market trends and forecasting consumer demand, this team works hard to ensure we are selling the right number of tickets at the right price to optimize our revenue and run a profitable airline.
Key Responsibilities:
• The Sr Analyst will drive improvement in sell quality for all itineraries that include space on OA with an end goal of driving incremental revenue and improving the customer experience. This role will use data to make strategic decisions about availability technologies between United and codeshare and interline partners, (e.g. interactive links, cascading, etc.), by analyzing partner booking & revenue trends. Sr Analyst will independently field questions from collaborators across United regarding partner sell quality and will recommend solutions to recurring issues. This position will work across internal and external partners to improve the architecture and mechanisms supporting United’s inventory data feeds for other airline (OA) partners. This role will require a knowledge of and proficiency for using SHARES PSS, familiarity with other GDS/PSS platforms, future MOSAIC applications, and related database/query tools available to research and triage availability and sell issues that arise with OA partners.
Communication skills

Regularly participate in meetings with UA and OA leaders and experts in the field to review availability/sell issues and discuss possible solutions. The Sr. Analyst will draft summary emails/reports, expertly speak to/report out issues, discuss potential solutions, and summarize data trends!
Analytical skills

You will be required to use UA database tools such as SQL, Spotfire, etc. to independently build new reports, query partner statistics, and interpret results related to booking volumes, sell performance, and related trends.
Technical skills

Work extensively within SHARES and related databases (e.g., Google Flight Tools, UDH, Q*SELL reporting) for availability/sell testing and investigation/research. This role will also work closely with partners and their respective PSSs/GDSs, so a knowledge of basic terminology and functionality across airline systems will be important. Sr. Analyst will also help design parameters for new partner-related projects, new enterprise availability and sell projects, and then perform UAT prior to any production deployment.
Organization skills

Manage a portfolio of multiple partners and technical projects. Learning to prioritize work efficiently and resolving appropriate priorities when conflicts might arise will be vital to this role's success.
Teamwork skills

Assist in mentoring analyst(s) and handle intensified reports and issues that require in-depth research.

Please Note: This is a Houston-based, Hybrid role, with a 50-75% in office requirement.

• Computer Sciences, Data Analytics, Business, Economics, or Aviation Sciences
