KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • This is a remote work position. • Oversee the reconciliation of all balance sheet reconciliations assigned to you and Corporate staff on a monthly basis, • Coordinate with the Corporate accounting team to deliver accurate Corporate department P&L’s on a monthly basis • Closely interact with Hospital Accounting, SMG, SHCN, AR and AP groups to identify areas of operational and accounting efficiencies • Work with Director of Financial Reporting and Corporate Controller to shorten period end close cycle • Communicate with Director of AP to streamline AP accounting procedures and ensure accurate reporting • Leverage data modeling technology to derive entries needed to close each period and to perform variance analysis and reconciliation between subledgers and general ledger • Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of programs, procedures for improved operations, modifications to and/or implementation of new procedures • Lead and develop team of 2-5 staff and senior accountants, including supervisors • Other duties as assigned • Promotes, models, and oversees the mission and values of Steward Health Care. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Minimum 3-5 years of experience, BS Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience, including 2 years in a Senior Accounting role • Experience in Corporate Accounting within the healthcare field preferred • Moderate to advanced working knowledge of MS Office • Experience with at least one data modeling tool such as Power BI, Power Query, Tableau, Alteryx, etc. • Proven track record leading projects or identifying opportunities for process improvements • High Volume/Multi-Location experience • Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision in a high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail to be a self-starter • Demonstrated ability to manage upwardly by keeping leadership apprised of foreseen obstacles.
