Security Lead

As a Security Lead at Afresh, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization's digital assets and ensuring the security of our systems, processes, and data. This is a leadership position where you will develop and implement effective security strategies, collaborate with various teams across the company, and drive initiatives to protect us from security risks. Your expertise will be essential in identifying potential threats, conducting security assessments, and fostering a culture of security awareness throughout the company. We are looking for someone with a strong track record of implementing security projects, building cross-functional relationships, and ensuring that our security posture remains robust and compliant with industry standards. Role and Responsibilities Develop and implement effective security strategies and processes to protect the company from security risks. Be a key input into quarterly planning and drive prioritization for security work. Lead execution of security projects, breaking down work, and effectively delegating tasks Represent the company to customers and communicate effectively Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of security requirements into business processes and projects. Conduct regular security assessments and audits, including leading the Type II SOC 2 audits annually. Assess potential risks and vulnerabilities, investigate security incidents, and reinforce appropriate measures to mitigate them. Conduct security architecture reviews and makes recommendations Evangelize and foster a culture of security awareness across the company Skills and Experience 6+ years of experience in Security Engineering or similar Experience being a Team Lead across the organization Prior experience with Security for Cloud Infrastructure/Kubernetes Demonstrated effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, actively fostering a culture of security awareness, and supporting the development of security solutions that impact larger projects. Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills. Possesses expert-level knowledge in their specialty field and the security technology stack. Expert understanding of industry standards and how they apply to Afresh.
