Security engineer for penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
Working with a client who has built a quiz-based app that helps people quit smoking by recommending smokeless alternatives and tracking usage via a streak monitor. The client has asked for security assurance on the app’s frontend, specifically in the form of front-end security and penetration testing. The preferred scope is the application frontend, with a focus on dynamic application security testing (DAST) or an equivalent penetration test of the running interface. The requested timeline is to complete the testing tomorrow or the following day, with a short written report provided to the client by Monday. The client has explicitly requested that any available security testing documentation be shared, ideally a DAST output or a penetration test report for the application frontend. You will share the relevant application screens to support the testing and documentation.
