About the position

This job answers internal/external calls for Security Operations, which average 2-3,000 transactions daily. Answers routine and emergency calls for security assistance while obtaining all necessary information required while dispatching security officers to calls for service as well as making notifications to on duty supervisors. Responds to all emergency situations, all types of Hospital/Clinic codes at any given time, monitors Hospital/Clinic video screens, maintains security log and all associated computer entries; handles all call and on-call for security and emergency preparedness for main campus and regional clinics as well as notifications for security incidents and emergency preparedness issues.

Responsibilities
• Consistently answers calls using standard company greeting.
• Solicit and document information needed from callers to determine level of security assistance and then to dispatch officers to assist callers.
• Responds to all codes/notifications during emergency incidents.
• Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
• Handles all call and on-call for security and emergency preparedness.

Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience as a telephone operator, dispatcher or related experience.
• International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire.
• Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.

• Must possess a good command of the English language, along with the ability to speak clearly and distinctly.
