The company is co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore.About the RoleWe are looking for a Backend Software Engineer (SDE 2) with strong experience in Node.js and core JavaScript to help us design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems that power our global platform for both Consumer and SME segments.In this role, you will collaborate closely with Frontend, Mobile, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure our services are secure, highly available, observable, and performant. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role where your contributions will directly affect customer experience and system reliability at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust, secure, and scalable backend services using Node.js, with adherence to clean coding and modular architecture practices.
Work with relational and NoSQL databases, integrate with message brokers (e.g., Kafka or RabbitMQ), and ensure efficient data flow in a distributed microservices architecture.
Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD, cloud deployment (primarily AWS), and production support — including monitoring, logging, and incident response. Requirements
2+ years of hands-on experience in backend development using Node.js in production environments, with strong command over JavaScript core concepts; TypeScript experience is a must.
Practical knowledge of AWS cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and basic exposure to Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and tools like PostgreSQL/MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka/RabbitMQ, with strong problem-solving skills, DSA, and understanding of design patterns. Additional Information
