Scriptwriter for Well-Researched, High-Retention Explainer Videos - Contract to Hire

We are looking for a scriptwriter who can write well-researched, highly engaging explainer scripts with clear explanations and the ability to keep viewers hooked till the end. This is for a faceless YouTube channel producing 10–15 minute documentary-style explainer videos. This is a long-term opportunity for the right person. What This Role Is About You will be responsible for: • Researching the given topic deeply • Understanding why things happen (mechanisms, causes, systems) • Writing clear, engaging, and structured explainer scripts We will provide: • The video topic • A brief or domain document to define scope and boundaries Your job is to work within that direction and deliver a script that makes complex ideas easy to understand and engaging to watch. Content Style & Expectations (Very Important) We are looking for scripts that are: • Well-researched and fact-based • Strong on explanation, not just facts or opinions • Story-driven, but not dramatic or sensational • Clear, logical, and engaging throughout This is not: • Self-help content • Motivational writing • Opinion pieces • Advice-driven scripts The goal is explanation and understanding, not telling viewers what to do. Reference Channels (For Direction Only) To give you a broad idea of the explainer style and quality level, our content is inspired by channels such as: • Vox • ColdFusion • MagnatesMedia • RealLifeLore We are not trying to copy these channels. They are only references to help you understand the clarity, structure, and engagement level expected. We will develop our own signature style of explanation. Responsibilities • Research topics using credible sources • Break down complex ideas into simple, logical explanations • Write 10–15 minute explainer scripts • Maintain strong flow and viewer retention • Keep tone neutral, clear, and engaging • Follow provided briefs and boundaries • List the sources of information used for each script to ensure accuracy and avoid baseless claims AI Usage Policy (Important) • Fully AI-generated scripts are not acceptable • AI may be used only as a supporting tool (for outlining, fact-checking, or refining clarity) • The final script must reflect original human thinking and writing We have internal checks and systems in place to identify AI-generated scripts. Submissions found to be fully AI-written will not be considered.
