About the position The Safe Environment Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Archdiocese of Boston's efforts in child protection and pastoral support. This position involves data entry, compliance tracking, and training preparation, ensuring that parishes and schools adhere to child protection protocols. The assistant will also conduct training sessions and facilitate communication regarding child protection expectations. Responsibilities • Serve as a staff member of the Office of Pastoral Support and Child Protection, obtaining a working knowledge of the work done in all sections. • Enter attendance at trainings into the VIRTUS database. • Assist with tracking compliance with child protection trainings for adults and youth in RCAB parishes and affiliated Catholic schools. • Provide assistance to parishes and schools to help them understand and comply with all rules related to Child Protection. • Learn to facilitate Protecting God's Children (PGC) training and assist with ongoing communication with all PGC Facilitators. • Provide PGC training as needed, at least once a month. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements • Ability to obtain and maintain a working knowledge of Massachusetts Child Protection protocols and procedures, including mandated reporter law. • Ability to communicate Massachusetts Child Protection protocols to clergy, employees, and volunteers. • Ability to obtain working knowledge of USCCB Charter for the Protection of Youth and Young People and teach others regarding the charter. • Ability to obtain working knowledge of RCAB Policy for the Protection of Youth and teach others regarding the policy. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Strong organizational skills. • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. • Self-directed with the ability to identify needs and meet them. • High School Diploma required.
