Ruby Software Engineer

The 3 G’s of RE: “Get Shit Done.” “Get Over Shit.” “Give a Shit.” Ruby Software Engineer Use your deep expertise in Ruby and solid experience with Go (Golang) to develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. You’ll play a key role in designing clean, testable systems, leading engineering excellence, and shaping the technical direction of our projects. • Design and build robust, scalable backend systems primarily using Ruby, with some services implemented in Go. • Make technically sound decisions and champion high standards of coding, architecture, and best practices. • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications and design documents. • Drive continuous improvement through code reviews, mentorship, and contributions to our SDLC processes. • Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues across services written in both Ruby and Go. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate functional and non-functional requirements into actionable work. • Manage clear and consistent communication of project status and progress with stakeholders. We Are Looking For • 4+ years of professional software development experience, primarily with Ruby. • Strong proficiency in Ruby, including its syntax, idioms, object-oriented principles, and the Ruby framework. • Solid understanding of Go (Golang) and experience building production services in Go. • Experience with Kubernetes or EKS. • Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles. • Familiarity with building and consuming web services (HTTP, REST, GraphQL, etc.). • Experience working with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL. • Exposure to infrastructure tools like Terraform, serverless architecture (e.g., AWS Lambda), and API development. • Passion for writing clean code and mentoring others. • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in distributed teams.
