Description Robert Half is hiring for Medical Billers! This position plays a crucial role in the healthcare industry by ensuring accurate and timely billing for medical services provided to patients. This position involves navigating complex medical coding systems, understanding insurance policies, and collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize revenue cycles. Key Responsibilities: Patient Information Verification: Medical Coding: • Assign appropriate medical codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) to diagnoses and procedures. • Stay updated on coding changes and compliance regulations. • Claim Preparation: • Compile and review medical documentation to support claims. • Prepare and submit insurance claims to relevant parties, including private insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid. Insurance Verification: Billing Inquiries: • Respond to inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and internal staff regarding billing issues. • Provide clarification on billed services and assist in resolving disputes. Payment Posting: Denial Management: Compliance and Regulation: Reporting: • Generate and analyze reports related to billing, collections, and accounts receivable. • Provide regular updates on key performance indicators. Collaboration: • Collaborate with healthcare providers, physicians, and administrative staff to resolve billing issues. • Communicate effectively with team members to streamline the billing process. Requirements Qualifications: • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical billing and coding is often preferred. • Experience: Previous experience in medical billing or a related field is advantageous. • Skills:Proficiency in medical coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS). • Knowledge of insurance processes and reimbursement. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Familiarity with billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
