Risk, Audit, Compliance, and Information Security Content Editor (Freelance, Contract)

You’ll be at the heart of ensuring our content hits the highest editorial and subject matter standards. We’re seeking a B2B content editor with deep familiarity in internal audit, risk management, InfoSec, or compliance. You’ll work on content aimed at senior enterprise professionals — helping us publish high-performing, product-aligned, and deeply credible thought leadership, guides, and educational resources in regulated industries. Responsibilities: • Review and edit long-form content on complex topics like: • SOX compliance and internal controls • Cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) • Risk assessments and GRC practices • Audit reporting and planning workflows • Ensure content aligns with the expectations and needs of multiple stakeholders, including: • Audit Directors • CISOs and InfoSec leaders • Risk and Compliance Officers • IT and Security teams • Translate regulatory and technical subject matter into clear, digestible, and trustworthy content for expert-level readers • Refine tone, clarity, and structure while preserving factual integrity and SME credibility • Uuphold brand voice and editorial standards • QA all content for: • Accuracy and consistency • Structural soundness • Grammar and style • SEO and conversion-readiness • Track and enforce editorial best practices across drafts and revisions Job Qualifications and Technical Skill Sets: • 3–5+ years of experience editing B2B content, ideally for SaaS or services in: • InfoSec / cybersecurity • Risk and compliance • Internal audit or controls • IT governance • Hands-on subject matter knowledge — either through prior writing, editing, or direct experience in related roles • Strong command of enterprise standards like: • SOX, NIST, COSO, ISO 27001, IIA Standards, SOC 2 • TPRM and ERM frameworks • Ability to synthesize technical SME input into clear, structured, senior-executive-ready content • Skilled at editing for clarity, tone, structure, SEO best practices, and brand alignment • Familiarity with Clearscope, Asana, or similar tools a plus • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills • Note on Compensation: Our rate for editing work is $35 USD per hour. This rate is applied consistently across projects to promote transparency and fairness for all freelance editors on our team. Portfolio Please include 3–5 edited samples (ideally published in the last three years). These should reflect your ability to refine complex content in areas like SOX, cybersecurity, risk management, or internal audit.
