Revenue Accounting Lead

As the Revenue Accounting Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the financial health of the organization. You will manage complex revenue accounting processes and support the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and ASC 606.
What youll do as a Revenue Accounting Lead at Vanta:
Revenue Recognition: Apply appropriate revenue recognition principles (ASC 606) to ensure proper accounting for contracts, customer agreements, and billing arrangements.
Revenue Accounting Close Process: Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for revenue, commissions and other revenue-related transactions and accounts. Ensure all revenue-related transactions are accounted for accurately and timely.
Account Reconciliations: Perform detailed account reconciliations for revenue-related and commission accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
Compliance and Audit: Maintain compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Assist in external audits related to revenue.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for streamlining and improving revenue and commission accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Special Projects: Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives related to revenue accounting, system upgrades, and process improvements.
How to be successful in this role:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or other relevant certifications preferred.
5+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting or a related field, with a strong understanding of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 and experience in SAAS a plus.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve complex issues.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience with financial software systems (Netsuite) and advanced proficiency in Excel

The salary or OTE range for this position is $99,000 - $117,000. This role may also be eligible for commissions/bonus, equity, medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company perk programs.
