Residential Loan Processor

Overview:

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the proper processing of all residential loan types from time of application through approval and thereafter closing of the loan. Performs pre- funding and post-closing reviews and verification of loan collateral. Uploads closed loans onto loan systems. Adheres to bank's residential loan procedures and investor's loan and documentation policies and guidelines.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provides support to the loan processing of all loan requests.
• Inputs all residential loan files in computer system; prepares and mails out required disclosures; orders credit reports, VOE’s, VOD’s and VOM’s.
• Pre-underwrites the file by obtaining all necessary documents and explanations necessary from borrower prior to submitting to underwriting.
• Forwards files to investors for approval and follows-up on Investor Rate lock approval when applicable.
• Ensures the proper and timely processing of all loans, including the booking and funding of all loans.
• Ensures appropriate follow-up on documentation exceptions.
• Provides client service/support to Loan Originators.
• Conducts post-closing review of all loans to insure documentation requirements are adhered to.
• Creates and maintains records for pending documentation and/or exceptions; follows-up on any documentation deficiency.
• Responds to phone inquiries from the general public and bank personnel on eligibility, terms and conditions for the various residential programs.
• As required, assists the Residential Closer in preparing loan packages for loan closings.
• Comply with bank policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and investor guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• 8-10 years experience in residential mortgage loan processing required.
• General knowledge of loan documentation and post-closing review.
• Recent Encompass and Processing Experience.
• Knowledge of collateral control, loan servicing requirements, compliance and secondary markets.
• Basic knowledge of related compliance regulations such as RESPA, Fair Lending, HMDA, etc.
• Basic knowledge of Bank operations, products and services; related state and federal laws and regulations, and other Bank operational policies and procedures.
• Able to manage high volume of activity and maintain production goals.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Industry related education a plus.
• Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions.

Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Real Estate or related field.
