[Remote] Surgical Cardiovascular Data Abstractor II
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. HCA Healthcare, a leading provider of healthcare services, is seeking a Cardiovascular Data Abstractor II to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for the abstraction of data related to complex cardiovascular services and infectious disease, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Completes abstraction process for assigned facility(ies), including abstraction of cases into the required system (e.g., COMET, TheraDoc, Digital Innovations, NHSN, etc.)
ā¢ Responsible for reviewing medical records to abstract information according to the standards of various regulatory and accreditation agencies (e.g., CMS, TJC, NHSN, etc.)
ā¢ Performs timely abstraction to ensure compliance with standards
ā¢ Completes edit checks and makes appropriate changes on a timely basis
ā¢ Follow standards and CSG/Parallon instructions to abstract all reportable cases
ā¢ Assist with case follow-up as requested
ā¢ Attend educational activities as approved by Manager or Director
ā¢ Maintain clinical knowledge of various abstracted measures
ā¢ Communicate in a timely manner with manager to achieve measure compliance
ā¢ Submit data timely through the appropriate reporting system
ā¢ Resolve errors resulting in the rejection of records from the data entry system
Skills
ā¢ 2+ years of experience in Health Information Management; Coding, Nursing, and/or Health Registry abstraction experience required
ā¢ Undergraduate degree in a healthcare related field required. Extensive experience (5 years or more) may be considered in lieu of formal education
ā¢ Completion of a certified coding or nursing program strongly preferred
ā¢ RHIT, RHIA, CCS certification strongly preferred
ā¢ LVN or RN preferred
