Remote Sr. Unix Systems Engineer

In this role, you will be an essential contributor to the operations and maintenance of key Unix systems, ensuring that the infrastructure supports critical services efficiently. You'll work with a diverse team, engaging in tasks that span monitoring, vulnerability mitigation, and server management across a wide range of platforms. Accountabilities • Work on a Unix team supporting 600+ Unix/Linux servers • Assist in growing the Linux presence in AWS • Participate in 24x7 On-Call rotation and after hours support as required • Read, modify, write, and debug scripts (shell, perl, python, etc.) • Install, configure, patch RHEL on several physical and virtual platforms • Utilize Splunk for Log Review • Perform daily monitoring of servers and maintenance as needed • Analyze and develop technical documentation • Provide direct support to customers and stakeholders, manage support requests • Other duties as assigned Requirements • 5 Years Experience supporting RHEL/CentOS Systems • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA6/7/8) Certification • Intermediate ability with Satellite Server and Ansible Tower • Proven Experience with Linux Hosting in AWS • Experience in Vulnerability Mitigation / OS Hardening • Creation and configuration of file systems (NFS/CIFS) • Expert proficiency in Logical Volume Management • Significant Experience with an Enterprise Monitoring/Ticketing System • Demonstrated analytic problem-solving ability • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Time management and organizational aptitude • Ability to work independently Benefits • Variety of medical plan options with Health Savings Accounts • Dental and vision plan options • 401(k) plan with company match • Flexible work weeks to encourage work/life balance • Paid time off including vacation, sick, and personal time • 10 paid holidays per year • Paid parental, military, bereavement, and jury duty leave • Paid Family Leave program providing up to 160 hours in a rolling 12-month period • Short and long-term disability benefits • Life and critical illness insurance Why Apply Through Jobgether?
