[Remote] Sr. IAM Engineer- Sailpoint

Hampton North is seeking a Senior Engineer in Cybersecurity Identity & Access Management (SailPoint) to join their IAM team focused on improving identity investments. The role involves hands-on contributions to enhance the SailPoint Identity Security Cloud and ensure operational maturity while collaborating with various stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective identity governance designs. Responsibilities • Serve as a hands-on SailPoint ISC engineer responsible for advancing the platform from partial utilization to full operational maturity • Design, implement, and refine joiner, mover, leaver workflows driven by HR events and real business requirements • Build and maintain integrations between SailPoint and core systems including Workday, Active Directory, Entra ID, and high-impact internal and SaaS applications • Configure and customize SailPoint connectors, transforms, rules, and workflows to support scalable lifecycle management and access governance • Partner closely with IAM leadership to translate business requirements into IGA designs that are practical, usable, and defensible in audits • Support access certification campaigns with a focus on clarity, completion rates, and reduced reviewer friction • Help rationalize roles, birthright access, and entitlement models to reduce manual decisions and over-provisioning • Troubleshoot provisioning failures, policy violations, and identity data issues with an emphasis on long-term fixes • Contribute to reporting and metrics that tie identity activity back to risk reduction and business outcomes • Work directly with security, IT, HR, and compliance stakeholders who are engaged, opinionated, and expect clear technical reasoning Skills • Strong hands-on experience with SailPoint Identity Security Cloud or IdentityNow in a production environment • Solid understanding of identity governance concepts including lifecycle management, access reviews, RBAC, and policy enforcement • Experience integrating SailPoint with HR systems such as Workday and directories such as Active Directory or LDAP • Experience onboarding and managing applications using common connector types including SCIM, REST, JDBC, and AD • Comfort working with SailPoint rules, transforms, and workflows to automate identity processes • Experience supporting audits, access reviews, and governance controls in regulated or professional services environments • Ability to clearly explain identity decisions to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders • Working knowledge of IT service management processes including incident, change, and release management • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience • 6+ years of experience in IAM, IGA, or identity-focused security engineering roles • Prior hands-on responsibility for SailPoint implementations or major enhancements • SailPoint certifications are a plus but not required Company Overview • Hampton North is a Cyber Security specialist staffing firm.
