[Remote] Spacecraft Power & Battery Systems Engineer

As the Spacecraft Power & Battery Systems Engineer, you will oversee power generation, storage, and distribution for spacecraft, optimizing their performance and supporting operational activities.
Responsibilities
⢠Guard overall health of spacecraft power subsystems and recommend actions that optimize power margins while protecting vehicle safety
⢠Trend solar-array and battery performance, characterize ageing behaviour, and propose life-extension strategies
⢠Develop, update, and automate operational procedures, scripts, and dashboards that streamline satellite and ground-segment activities
⢠Provide real-time support during routine passes, anomaly investigations, and recovery operations, coordinating closely with operations controllers
⢠Generate command plans, review execution windows, and verify post-command telemetry against expected outcomes
⢠Create analytical tools in Python and MATLAB that improve insight into subsystem status and predictive maintenance
⢠Document best practices and mentor cross-functional teammates on power-system concepts and operational impacts
Skills
⢠Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar
⢠7+ years working with spacecraft electrical systems, including at least 5 years each on solar-array and battery architectures
⢠Hands-on experience building or maintaining analysis software in Python; familiarity with MATLAB for data exploration
⢠Proven ability to interpret large telemetry data sets and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations
⢠Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfort collaborating across time zones in a fast-paced environment
⢠Advanced degree in a relevant discipline
⢠10+ years supporting LEO spacecraft, ground stations, or related networks
⢠Knowledge of radiation-hardened components and design considerations for harsh environments
