[Remote] Senior Sales Data Analyst
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bamboo Insurance is seeking a Senior Sales Data Analyst to leverage insights from data to enhance their go-to-market strategies across distribution channels. The role involves extracting, structuring, and analyzing raw data to support distribution strategy and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Develop and write advanced SQL queries against raw data lake environments (not pre-modeled tables)
ā¢ Build clean, structured datasets from fragmented, messy source data - including designing transformations, data models, and repeatable logic
ā¢ Design and build management reports, dashboards and scorecards to analyze customer and agent behavior
ā¢ Perform deep-dive analytics using statistical methods, segmentation, and cohort analysis to monitor ongoing performance across distribution partners, identifying opportunities to increase sales and customer conversions
ā¢ Assist in the onboarding of new partners, validating data pipelines, ensuring field mapping, and establishing ongoing monitoring logic
ā¢ Build and refine the ideal customer profile for direct-to-consumer marketing
ā¢ Partner with engineering, actuarial, underwriting, and marketing teams to unify data definitions, improve data quality, and support analytical initiatives. Other duties, as assigned
Skills
ā¢ Expert-level SQL with a demonstrated ability to query unstructured/poorly formatted data
ā¢ Strong understanding of data structures, ETL concepts, joins, nested logic, partitioning, and performance optimization techniques
ā¢ Experience building datasets or data marts from scratch using raw, ungoverned data
ā¢ Familiarity with APIs, JSON, and request testing frameworks (Postman, etc.)
ā¢ Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets (e.g., regression, forecasting, clustering, etc)
ā¢ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
ā¢ Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
ā¢ Proficiency in using analytical tools and software
ā¢ Collaborative team player with a proactive and problem-solving attitude
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, etc.)
ā¢ 5+ years of experience in a data-heavy analytical or technical SQL role. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
ā¢ Experience with Homeowners' insurance
ā¢ Proficiency in Python or equivalent scripting language preferred
ā¢ Knowledge of Tableau, Pyramid, or other visualization tool preferred
