Position Overview The Remote Senior Engineer II is a cornerstone of our engineering organization. You will design, build, and maintain large‑scale, distributed systems that power our core products. This role requires a blend of front‑end finesse, back‑end robustness, and cloud‑native expertise. You’ll partner with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver features that delight customers while meeting strict reliability and security standards. Key Responsibilities Architect & Build Scalable Systems: Design and implement resilient, high‑throughput services using micro‑service patterns, containers, and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes. Full‑Stack Development: Contribute to both UI/UX layers (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular) and back‑end services (Python, C#, Java, Go) ensuring seamless end‑to‑end experiences. Cloud Integration: Leverage Azure (PaaS & IaaS) and multi‑cloud expertise (AWS, GCP) to design secure, cost‑effective architectures that meet compliance standards. Collaborative Delivery: Participate actively in design workshops, sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives to raise the bar for engineering excellence. Automation & DevOps: Create CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code scripts, and automated monitoring/alerting solutions using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools. Performance & Reliability: Define SLAs, implement observability (metrics, logs, tracing), and continuously improve system performance and uptime. Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Coach junior engineers, host brown‑bag sessions, and document best practices to foster a culture of continuous learning. Security & Compliance: Embed security controls (OAuth, SAML, Active Directory, encryption) into the development lifecycle and stay current with industry standards. Customer‑Focused Innovation: Translate product visions into technical solutions that solve real‑world problems, always keeping the end‑user experience at the forefront. Essential Qualifications Professional Experience: Minimum 2 + years of full‑time software development experience with modern OO languages (Java, C#, C++, Go) and a proven track record of delivering production‑grade code. Architecture & Design: Demonstrated experience in creating scalable architectures, applying design patterns, and making data‑driven decisions for reliability and performance. Data Structures & Algorithms: Solid understanding of core CS concepts, enabling you to write efficient, maintainable code. Cloud Platforms: Hands‑on experience with Azure services (App Service, Functions, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, etc.) and familiarity with AWS or GCP. Containerization & Orchestration: Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm charts, and related ecosystem tools. Database Expertise: Experience with relational (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cosmos DB) and data modeling best practices. Web Fundamentals: Strong grasp of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and RESTful API design. Scripting & Automation: Intermediate PowerShell or Bash scripting skills for task automation and infrastructure management. Security Knowledge: Familiarity with authentication/authorization standards (OAuth, SAML, OpenID), directory services (Active Directory), and secure coding practices. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written abilities, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to cross‑functional audiences. Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, hyper‑growth environment where priorities shift rapidly. Preferred Qualifications & Nice‑to‑Haves Experience with serverless architectures (Azure Functions, AWS Lambda) and event‑driven design. Contributions to open‑source projects or active participation in developer communities. Advanced certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Engineer). Exposure to data‑engineering pipelines, big‑data frameworks (Spark, Flink) or machine‑learning model deployment. Proficiency with monitoring ecosystems (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, Datadog). Knowledge of CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines) and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform, ARM templates). Education A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline is required. Equivalent professional experience, certifications, or a combination thereof will also be considered.
